The whole thing, start to finish
How QuarterFile works
It’s built so the first time through takes about ten minutes. Returning quarters are quicker: your column mappings and categories are remembered.
HMRC recognition is in progress, and sign-ups are not open yet. Filing opens for the 7 February 2027 quarter. Until then you can check your MTD date, read the guides and join the reminder list: we’ll email you the day sign-ups open.
How to file a quarterly update: import, review, file
Step 1
Import
Upload your bank statement CSV. QuarterFile remembers your columns and flags anything that looks like a duplicate.
Step 2
Review
Every line gets a suggested category. You confirm or change each one. Nothing is filed that you haven’t confirmed.
Step 3
File
Check your totals, connect to HMRC once, and file. You get a receipt with HMRC’s reference, kept for as long as HMRC could ask about it.
Import your bank statement
Duplicates are flagged before anything is saved (“14 rows look like duplicates, review”), so importing the same statement twice never doubles your income. Your column mapping is remembered for next quarter.
Review your quarter
Each line shows a suggested category: “Suggested: confirm or change.” Confirm one by one or in bulk. Only lines you’ve confirmed count, and the review screen warns about anything odd before you file.
File, and keep the proof
One press files your update. You get HMRC’s receipt reference, the exact time, and a copy by email. Every filed quarter stays in your history for as long as HMRC could ask about it, printable and exportable.
